Overview
Two of Kenya’s most respected private concessions, with a working farm stay in between. After a night at Hemingways Nairobi in the leafy suburb of Karen, a light aircraft flies you to Lewa Wilderness Lodge in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, 62,000 acres of protected land known for black rhino and Grevy’s zebra.
Three nights at Olepangi Farm on the Laikipia Plateau slow the pace: yoga on the deck, bread baked in the farm kitchen, produce gathered for dinner and walks across 120 acres of homestead. The trip closes at Naboisho Camp in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, one of the Maasai Mara Conservancies, which shares an unfenced border with the Masai Mara National Reserve and keeps vehicle numbers low.
Alfresco dining, bush picnics and walking safaris run throughout, and the conservancy model means each stay directly supports wildlife and the communities that host it.
Who it suits
Repeat visitors and couples who prefer privacy and conservation-led travel to busy reserves, and anyone who likes a day or two off the vehicle. It is one of the more exclusive Kenya itineraries on the site.
