Overview
A gentle, good-value introduction to Kenya’s Rift Valley and its most famous reserve. After a night by the airport, you are transferred to Loldia House, a historic farmhouse on the shores of Lake Naivasha with views to Mount Longonot, where giraffe and buffalo graze the lawns and hippos come ashore after dark.
From Loldia, a day trip reaches Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s rhino sanctuaries, with Rothschild’s giraffe, leopard and the flamingos and water birds of its soda lake. A short flight then takes you to Governors’ Camp, a classic riverside camp inside the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Walking safaris, a champagne breakfast and sundowners are part of the programme, and a hot-air balloon flight over the Mara is a popular addition.
