Overview
Four days through the Great Rift Valley in your own 4×4, combining two lakes with Kenya’s best-known reserve. Lake Nakuru National Park is a fenced rhino sanctuary, and its game drive is one of the surest places in Kenya to see both black and white rhino, along with Rothschild’s giraffe, lion and the water birds of the soda lake.
At Lake Naivasha a boat crosses to Crescent Island, where you walk among giraffe, zebra and wildebeest with no predators to worry about, and pods of hippo watch from the water.
The final two days are in the Masai Mara National Reserve, with long game drives for lion, leopard and cheetah and, from July to October, the herds of the Great Migration.
Who it suits
Couples, families and small groups who want a private, flexible road safari with more variety than a Mara-only trip, at a mid-range price.
