Overview
This nine-day fly-in itinerary covers southern Tanzania’s two flagship wilderness areas: Ruaha, the country’s largest national park, and Nyerere, the former Selous and one of the largest wildlife areas in the world. After a night at the Four Points by Sheraton in Dar es Salaam, light aircraft transfers connect three nights at Kigelia Camp, an intimate six-suite tented camp in Ruaha, with four nights at Sand Rivers Selous above the Rufiji River. Both parks deliver Big Five game viewing with strong wild dog populations and few other vehicles, and Sand Rivers adds boating, walking and optional fly-camping to the standard game drive programme. Fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport and overnight on the Indian Ocean coast to recover from the long flight

Fly to Ruaha | 3 Nights
Ruaha National Park
Light aircraft to Msembe Airstrip and road transfer to Kigelia Camp in time for lunch, with the first afternoon game drive among Ruaha's baobab and sausage trees, followed by two full safari days from this six-suite tented camp
Day 5
Fly to the Selous | 4 Nights
Nyerere National Park
Scheduled flight to Kiba Airstrip and transfer to Sand Rivers Selous above the Rufiji River, with game drives, guided walks, boat trips, fishing and optional fly-camping over four nights
Day 9
Return to Dar es Salaam
