Big Five Safaris

4-Day Panorama Route & Kruger National Park Safari

South Africa 4 Days Easy

Overview

This four-day trip pairs the two things most first-time visitors to Mpumalanga want to see: the Panorama Route along the edge of the escarpment, and Kruger National Park on the lowveld below it. Amatungulu Tours runs it from Johannesburg with hotel pickup, three nights of accommodation and national park fees included. Day one climbs the escarpment to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, one of the largest green canyons in the world, with the night spent in a chalet at Forever Blyde Canyon. Day two opens with a boat trip on the Blyde Dam before the descent into Kruger, and the two days that follow are given over to game viewing in the park in search of the Big Five. Breakfast is included each morning and gratuities are covered in the rate, but lunches and dinners are not, so budget for those separately. The group is capped at 16 travellers.
