Overview
Kenya at its most indulgent: four nights at Angama Mara, high on the Oloololo Escarpment above the Masai Mara National Reserve, followed by five nights in an exclusive-use beach villa on the Indian Ocean.
Angama’s glass-fronted tented suites look straight down onto the plains where the Great Migration gathers between July and October, and game drives, picnics and an optional balloon flight fill the days. The journey begins with a night at Hemingways Nairobi in Karen, with time to visit the orphaned elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or the giraffe centre if your flight allows.
The coast is Alfajiri Beach Villa, just south of Diani, where a private chef, butler, masseuse and driver are part of the house. Days can be as quiet as the beach or as active as snorkelling, deep-sea fishing or a trip into the Shimba Hills.
Who it suits
Honeymooners and couples marking a milestone who want one exceptional safari lodge and a genuinely private beach, rather than a busy multi-stop itinerary.
