Destination Dossier
Ethiopia is unlike anywhere else in Africa — the cradle of humanity, never colonised, with its own calendar, alphabet, and 2,000 years of Christian and Islamic heritage. Add the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the Simien Mountains, and the otherworldly Danakil Depression, and you have a country closer to a continent.
